There is also a growing consensus among interview researchers that such behaviours may limit interviewers’ ability to reliably assess applicants’ qualities and accurately predict their capacity to perform on the job.34 In other words, applicants’ deceptive tactics may be a threat to the reliability and validity of the interview.
